Prompton bought the building which my partner and I have lived in for three years about a year ago. The service and treatment that we have received from them has been extremely unprofessional.

Last summer, our deck rotted and was a danger to us and the tenant who lived below. We requested that it be repaired and it took over two months for it to be completely repaired. The repair man showed up unannounced, he did a poor job and left a mess in our apartment.

We sent a letter to Prompton suggesting that due to the inconvenience and not being able to use our deck during the summer our rent should be reduced. We also included pictures of the mess left by the repairman and the poor job he did repairing the deck. We provided a them with a suggestion of what we thought was a fair reduction of our rent for the two months (based on the square footage of the deck in regards to the rest of the apartment and our rent). The response we received from Prompton said exactly this,

"Just so you know that in measuring space, you never include the balcony size so your suite is the size stated and the balcony is extra. Typically if the balcony is unusable it is about $50 a month taken off. Thank you"

There was no apology for the inconvenience or the poor service. The response was not addressed to us specifically or signed off on. It was simply rude.

There have been numerous people in our building that have received similar service. I would not recommend renting from a building managed by Prompton.
