I had a mixed experience at the Green Tortoise Hostel.

Pros:
- I loved that the beds had curtains around them for extra privacy.
- Plenty of power outlets and a fan for each bed.
- Individual bathrooms, so I could have my shower and get ready in peace.
- A sink and mirror in the room, so I could brush my teeth if the bathrooms were all occupied.
- Nice spacious lockers.
- Unbeatable location.

Cons:
- A ton of street noise from outside, making it difficult to sleep.
- I know the hostel has green as a theme, but EVERYTHING was green (the sheets, the curtains, etc.). The decor could definitely do with a bit of updating, as the place seemed a rather run down.
- Some sort of shelf or stool in the bathroom would be nice.
- Limited breakfast selection, and no non-dairy milk for those who are lactose intolerant, vegan or have allergies.
- The front desk always has someone there, but I found there was a bit of a wait to get them to acknowledge me after I said hello (even if there was literally no one there but me). It seemed that the computer was more interesting.
- $40+ per night is a STEEP price to pay for the quality of sleep and stay in general.

In summary, I loved the location but my hostel stay was just ok. This place definitely pales in comparison to European hostels I ve stayed at.
