On June 26, 2015 we went for dinner for the first time at van der Valk. We wanted to know what the food was like to eat there more often. It has become a big disappointment. My wife had ordered a tournedos and I had fried liver. The tournedos was good but the liver was not. The cut pieces did not stay on my fork, just fell off. The liver was just too soft and the texture was not good, it did not look fried and it seemed that it was first cooked. The baked potatoes were dry and chewy (popped up ??) and the vegetables in the bowl were dirty according to my wife. I didn't even try it. No more van der Valk Ridderkerk and we are looking for another restaurant. We are going to give Diggles and De 3 Bogen a try in Barendrecht.
