My wife and I was in the market for a pre owned vehicle; possibly a Nissan Altima. After searching the web for good deals on Altimas we saw one that was in our price range at Sutherlin Nissan. I should have known it was too good to be true, but decided to drive 15 miles to this dealership anyway. Needless to say I should have stayed home and saved gas.
When we arrived, we couldn't even get completely out of the car without a salesman breathing down our neck. I told him about the Altima I saw online and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about and even suggested that we were at the wrong dealership. (That's funny, I didn't know that there was more than one Sutherlin Nissan in Buford near the Mall of Georgia).
After about 20 minutes of "talking to his manager", he was able to track the car down in the service department. He warned us that there was a little damage to the front end. But when I actually saw the car, it was much more than a little bit of damage. The whole front bumper was cracked, dented and was even missing some pieces. The salesmen then had the nerve to tell us it only would cost a couple of hundred dollars to fix. Yeah, right; the bumper alone is that much, and add a new paint job, you easily could be looking at $500 - $600. I then realized why the internet person "forgot" to put the car photo on on their site.
We told him no thanks then he had to endure more of his B.S. stories before we finally left.
Sutherlin Nissan is your typical shady dealership, I wish I could say that this is a unique experience, but unfortunately most dealerships are like this one or even worse. If you want to deal with an honest/up front dealer, then DON'T shop here.
