We chose The Old Bridge for our first date in three years, and we're glad we did. It was an expensive lunch, but it was great quality. The service was great. Although in a relatively casual setting, the service was formal, yet friendly. They provide complimentary filtered still/sparkling water (wonderfully cold). For the wine drinker, there is a plethora of choice. For me, there was a freshly squeezed pint of orange juice.
For mains, I chose the seared tuna topped with tomato and lime, with grilled new potatoes, and a rocket salad. The tuna was nicely seared, and while warm throughout, perfectly rare inside. The accompaniments were well cooked and the salad nicely dressed.
My wife chose the slow-cooked lamb with dauphinoise potatoes. The lamb was soft with a lovely sear on the outside, with a rich (but not overly so) thick sauce that glazed the lamb nicely. The potatoes were wonderfully soft, with many, thin layers, and a crispy bubbly top.
