So.... It's time to get my foundation repaired. I invited five different contractors to do assessments and make a bid.
The first two large and well known companies Ace and Du West claimed that the whole foundation was sinking in the front and advised 16 piers f o r $8,700.00 both of them almost identical in assessment and cost. But Ace did give $500 discount because they are endorsed by a baseball player. Meeting time over an hour.
Next up was Two Brothers. Their rep was on time and brief. He found that only one side of the house was in need of repair, gave a much lower bid and left me confident and relieved that their bid was correct. I hired them and they came out the next day. It only took the day to complete the work and when they were finished I couldn't even tell they had been there. Cracks on the interior drywall were gone and all the doors closed and latched properly. Their men even took care to replace my shrubs and plants that had been in the way.
One other contractor had a slightly similar price but I didn't much care for the hard sell routne and all tech talk.
If you find yourself in a similar situation, you can avoid all the hassle, do yourself a favor and talk to the Brothers first.
