I was SO disappointed with my visit today! :( The vet, Dr. Fine, gave me the MOST condescending lecture about feeding my cat dry food. I get where she's coming from, and I know all of her points about the benefits of wet food are valid. However, instead of providing some facts and a gentle suggestion and letting me make the decision, she made it clear that if I did not change his food, I was being a neglectful cat parent.

The only question I asked her was about some aggressive behaviors he shows in the morning. She told me that maybe "he and I weren't a good fit." What?! Who says that to an animal owner?!

The wellness exam (that cost me $105) took less than five minutes. The vet looked at his teeth, listened to his heart and touched his stomach.

After she left, the staff did his rabies shot, which was the only purpose of my visit. (They were fast, efficient and really sweet. In fact, all of the office staff were great.)

When all was said and done, I paid $130, after the original quote of $650 for a litany of testing she said he needed.

I was really disappointed with my visit, and not just because of the money. If the vet had treated me differently, I don't think the amount would have bothered me so much. While it's very clear she is passionate about cats and their well-being, she needs to take into account how her behavior comes off to their owners. After all, we make the decision on whether we come back to visit. I will not be coming back.

UPDATE: Barbara from Uniquely Cats reached out to me almost immediately and was very apologetic. In addition, she refunded the money for the wellness exam. I appreciate their great customer service and have adjusted my rating accordingly. It means a lot! Thank you, Barbara.
