The hotel was very smart, clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. I have deducted a couple of stars as I did request synthetic bedding when I booked, but as I was getting into bed noticed everything was feather. I was tired and decided to take extra medication, but still woke with a slight wheeze and a sneeze. The wifi wasn't great.Although you could pay extra for an upgrade, the basic version was just about functional. The shower was pretty good. No complementary biscuits in the room (a rarity these days). I can't judge the cooked breakfast as I didn't have it, but the bread supplied for the toast was functional, and there was a chip in the mug I had my breakfast coffee out of. The bar area was good, and lively, although the service was friendly, it was a little farcical and reminded me of Fawlty Towers.
