Room is a musky, dated and the couch felt damp. We asked for an upgrade given that it is our honeymoon but were told they were at maximum capacity except of course, for their most expensive suite. I am not sure if that is at all accurate. Since we are staying at this hotel for a few days, we asked if we can be notified of any room becomes available. From speaking to the employee at the front desk, it did not seem that she cared or will in fact notify us. We were coming from the Montage hotel on the same island (which is by far the best hotel we have ever been to where the rooms are extraordinarily beautiful and where we were given an upgrade) so having this room at the Kea Lani left us disappointed. Further, we stayed at the Fairmont Orchid in the Big Island which was a great hotel and in comparison we found that the Kea Lani was lacking in more than one respect.
