We have been customers for years, however the other night the service was so slow it was nearly non existent. The waitress took our drink order; 10 minutes passed before the drinks arrived; another 10 or so minutes passed before she returned to take our order for 2 entrees; another 15 minutes passed before she brought our relish tray and bread! After nearly 30 additional minutes the entrees arrived. My chicken was good, but my husband's chopped steak was so dry he could barely eat it. He got more au jus but it didn't help much. He should have sent it back. We took it home because I was going to reheat it with some gravy but he decided he didn't want it. Ok we threw it out..........what a waste. We ordered a cannoli "to go" to share later for $5.00. When we went to eat it later in the evening it was stale! I was furious! There is no excuse for that at those prices. Tenuta's has fresh ones for half that price. We were quite disappointed and will probably not go back. It's a shame that their service and food is not as good as it once was. Our 25+ years love affair with Villa D' Carlo is now over. It was the canolli that did it. Update: Unfortunately we went back tonight because our children took us to dinner and that's where they wanted to go. I ordered the sausage bomber; it was the worst I've ever had. The sausage was bland and "stale" tasting, no cheese with a small bowl of red sauce on the side to "dip" it in. The menu said it came with fries and slaw. The waitress asked me if I wanted fries OR slaw. I pointed out that the menu said it came with both and she told me that was a "misprint." What a crock of crap! If you are not offering what it states on the menu, then you should have the menu reprinted and correct the "misprint." This is absolutely the LAST time we will ever go to Villa D' Carlo! Before I could send back the sausage bomber my son in law finished it. He was welcome to it. Never again.
