As soon as I arrived at the hotel I thought "This ...

As soon as I arrived at the hotel I thought "This is going to be great! The grounds are gorgeous and everyone was so nice." Then I got to my room. It felt like an icicle. I quickly turned up the heat, and about an hour later the temperature hadn't moved and I was FREEZING even in my coat, scarf, and hat. I called the front desk and they said they would send maintenance. When the maintenance personnel arrived, he commented on how cold it was in my room. The maintenance person found discrepancies with the back door and said the seal needed to be replaced and the door couldn't close all the way; he also brought me a space heater because the heater would not heat the room above 15 degrees. At this point I thought, no big deal - it happens. Then I ordered room service. I found a hard piece of plastic in my sandwich. I told the woman who took my order and they comped it from my bill. They quickly took care of me, and I appreciated that. About the time I ordered room service I decided to have tea. As soon as I turned the water heater on a circuit blew and the power to the space heater, tv, and appliance was lost. I called the front desk and they yet again sent maintenance. At this point I was starting to get a little annoyed. The maintenance guy was very nice (same person as before) which made it hard to stay annoyed. Again, good customer service in regards to an issue.

The walls are VERY thin. Once I went to bed, I realized how thin they were. I could hear my neighbor and it sounded like they were having a normal voiced conversation and they might as well have been in my room.
The next morning I ordered room service again. I chose to have a green salad with my breakfast and asked for raspberry vinaigrette on the side - I'm not quite sure what "dressing" they brought me, but it tasted like straight melted butter. Thankfully the night before I had a salad I hadn't finished in the fridge and I kept the dressing, so instead of calling I just used what was in my fridge. I wanted to find a good restaurant to enjoy some food, but unfortunately BOTH nights I stayed the only one open - out of ALL the ones they boast about on their site - was the lounge. It was good, but it would have been nice to try a different restaurant. Pity.
I came back to my room today and as I walked up the stairs I could hear the cleaning lady complain about "the toilet smelling." I quickly understood her disgust and realized IT'S COMING FROM MY ROOM. You have GOT to be kidding me. I went into my room and sat down and as the woman came out of the bathroom she started to complain yet again about how disgusting the toilet smelled to her coworker, but when she saw me she quickly stopped talking. I asked, Is that smell coming from my toilet? and she responded with, No, I think it's coming from the sewage. We can smell it outside of the room too. Then, the woman cleaning the bathroom comes out and starts to spray her cleaner ALL OVER THE FLOOR to "mask the smell." She is soaking the floor with the cleaner and I'm about to start getting ready to wind down for the evening, so I'm worried my feet and socks are going to get wet. This is ridiculous. It's 6 PM and they are just finishing up cleaning my room. THIS IS TOO MUCH. Now I'm pissed. And at this point, it's not even worth saying something to the front desk. As I write this review I am sitting in my room that smells like throw up and cleaner and anxiously waiting to leave tomorrow. Tonight I again found plastic in my food!! What in the world. They compted my meals but this has gotten ridiculous.
I won't be coming back to this hotel, and as this was my first experience at a Fairmont I am a little unsure about ever staying at another Fairmont property again.
I gave a 3 star review based on quality of the room/hotel (especially for the price paid), first impressions, and quantity of room issues. For such a "high quality" hotel there should not be this many discrepancies. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with my stay here especially for the price I paid. The price certainly does not reflect the quality of the hotel.
