I cannot recommend Trinidad as a place to visit to anyone. Please read my review of the la brea lake. Scammers preying on unsuspecting tourists. Do more to stop this!

Avoid this man. The tour guides are scammers here. You entrust then with your safety and they use this trust to manipulate you. All with a friendly smile. They will rip you off. Make you do things that are not in your best interest, like wade through waist deep water, because they get a kick out of knowing you ll do what they say by abusing this trust. Without asking you for a ride they ll get in your car and have you drop them off miles away so they can grab lunch. Do not talk to them or engage them. They know what to say, they ll tell you what you want to hear, and just straight up manipulate you.

I ended up with wet shoes. Wet pants. Drove this stranger miles away. Got ripped off. And he was courteous and friendly the whole time. Only afterward. Do you realize how manipulated you were.
