We went for our 5th wedding anniversary, hoping for a special experience. We stayed 3 days, and on the 2nd day they were doing maintenance and warned guests that the hot water would be shut off during the day. Well, they shut off ALL the water to the entire hotel, and it happened while we were getting ready in the morning. Unable to use the bathroom, shower, wash our hands, or anything, I called the front desk and they said that was not supposed to happen and they'd call the engineers and call me back. 30 minutes later, no phone call, so I called again. This time, the girl at the front desk said she'd transfer me to the engineering office. She transferred me to the other girl standing next to her at the front desk. Finally, I went down to talk to them. They were clueless and acted like it was no big deal, and that all I had to do was wait until after 3 in the afternoon to have running water. I know things happen, but the way the staff handled it was not professional. The general manager later sent over a beach bag and a note apologizing for the outage, but the damage had been done. Why not shut off water to the entire hotel overnight, when everyone is asleep, or shut the place down for a day? We spent over $1000 for a memorable experience on a landmark anniversary, and left disappointed.
