Drove up to ER, horn blaring, stopped. No help. Ran into ER, let receptionist know I had a patient involved in accident in back of car who couldn't breathe. Her reply was there was only one man there, & if he wasn't he'd be back in a minute. Lady, he can't breathe, can you get someone?-her reply set me off- I can't leave my desk, I'll try to call someone! I had to literally yell, scream, & curse to get someone to car! The patient, who had to be revived is in ICU. I was told I got him there with seconds to spare. What kind of ER has no one to receive life-threatening injuries? Perhaps one that should be sued if that same patient had died because he couldn't be assisted from car to ER lobby??? He actually was SECONDS FROM DEATH WITH NO AIRWAY, & the valet/receiver will "be back in a minute"???? Please let the top administrator know that this is insufficient. By the way, I'm Angie, a former NC CNA-1 who knows medical emergencies.
