My rating expressly refers to the standard 4 star superior

The first impression was okay. The building currently looks like it does in the photos on the Internet.

Small inconspicuous lobby, conspicuous corona measures, resolute-friendly receptionist.
We had booked a single room for our daughter and a double room for us. In the hope of two quiet and romantic days / nights outside of Weimar, which can be easily reached by car. The rooms / bathrooms were very nice, clean and of a reasonable size for my taste. The furniture was a bit worn. There was a flat screen TV, which was very small for the size of the room (double room).

The view of the green area with the old trees was appealing. However, I already had concerns when I saw the beer garden under our windows.

And it came as it had to come. Noise until late at night. After !! 3 calls !! in the restaurant (reception was no longer manned), where I was promised that they would close immediately, the last guest was actually gone around midnight. The delivery trucks / garbage disposal came from 6:30 a.m. So it wasn't particularly romantic - and the opposite of calm.
Our daughter's room was on the other side. It was quiet outside, but you could easily follow the conversations in the adjoining rooms, whether you wanted to or not.

The entire cosmetic product range in the bathroom consisted of two mounted dispensers with a shampoo-shower gel-hand soap mix. The towels were very delicate, but very clean and 2 per person. The water pressure was also rather gentle, but the shower had three adjustable levels. The lighting in the bathroom was too subtle, the ventilation stubborn and loud for a long time. On request and for a fee! There would have been bathrobes and slippers, but we didn't take advantage of the offer. (4 stars superior !!!)

The mini bar in the room was empty but well cooled. There was a drinks machine in the hallway. Last time I saw it in a youth hostel.

The breakfast buffet corresponded at most to the standard for a 3 star hotel, albeit noticeably unimaginative and careless and at 9 o'clock already pretty empty. It was only filled up hesitantly and sparingly after several explicit inquiries. Coffee specialties were not offered. Only pots with filter coffee that must have seen cleaner times. No trace or card of pancakes / waffles and the other usual suspects . The offer for vegans is pretty hopeless.

I found the restaurant to be very attractive. The staff friendly but clumsy and probably inexperienced. It was neatly set, except for very tiny translucent paper napkins, but the service couldn't keep up with the prices. The fourth - for us unnecessary - place setting was never cleared away, the cards came after we asked about our wishes, etc. The meal was okay for me with enough salt and pepper, which I got on request. My husband didn't like it. It was too tasteless and not enough for him, despite several courses.

Since we had asked for a room change after the first noisy night, which could not be met, we were waived the parking fee of 12 euros.

So unfortunately nothing came of the quiet and / or romantic weekend. Absolutely not a recommendation. I attach photos.
