This is one of the best place to visit while you are in NYC. There is a ferry ride from both nj liberty state park and ny battery park. The ferry takes you around and drops you on the back side of the statue so that you get a complete 360 experience. The tickets for pedestal and ground us the same price so be careful while booking. If you need to go to the crown you need to purchase tickets at least month in advance. But there is no elevator to the crown. There is only steps. They have a new museum which is very nice and full of information. Also attached is a balcony which is a nice place to spend an hour and get some pictures.
