Wouldn t even rate this place 1 star!
Fancy applying for a job and working at UYR think again! I had applied for the role as Junior Graphic Designer and had an initial first interview. To which my opinion thought the interview process was sloppy . I was interviewed by the Studio Manager who was completely out of their depth and had no clue.

Fast forward to my first day, imagine turning up on your first day at work being told by the staff currently employed by the company that the previous staff member was let go after just over a month with the company - that leaves a lot to be said! I felt like I was being set up to fail by the company. I was expected to just sit there and be told to get on with jobs. I had no induction to the company and was asking for this all week and nothing was done at all about this. First impressions of being told about the role that full training will be given , in this case I had non and was expected just to get on with no help and sometimes felt ignored by the staff. I was also made to feel like I was sent down a guilt trip when asking all the rich questions and showing a willingness to learn within the job. But no, this was too much trouble to ask.

The company itself its highly unorganised and there is a blame culture that circulates within the business. Communication between staff is the biggest downfall, staff being told different things by different people who clearly don t have clue and don t act upon to solve any of the issues. UYR has a high staff turn over (says a lot to be desired) and staff are just employed on the basis as I was to take a work load off the management, who clearly does not care about new staff who show a willingness to learn. All the office staff were lovely and welcoming, however the Studio Manager was not. Made it obvious who the favourites were and did not have time for new starters. I had little or no communication from the Studio Manager or any other staff most days. Their attitude to new staff is very rude and ignorant and was told I had been here long enough after a week yes I mean 1 whole working week. This included learn everything about the job and expected to meet unrealistic targets. Everyone is worked like dogs, over worked and underpaid! Not to mention the dreadful, low paid wages! My advice for anyone wanting to apply for working here is don t this company will just waste your time and avoid this place like the plague.
