What should have taken a half hour on a 25,000 mil...

What should have taken a half hour on a 25,000 mile warranty we were told would take 2 hours, and actually took 4 hours. Originally I was told that they don't take US cars, because Toyota Canada and Toyota US were separate.
What should cost $50-$80 in Toyota dealers in the US, (we checked) cost $222.80. When questioned, they were most unhelpful. When we called our US dealer, he told us we were over mileage, since we started our Canada trip when our maintenance light came on, and decided to wait until we were with our daughter in Calgary. This is not stated in our manual, but "it is known to all dealers." Evidently Stampede did not know or did not want to share it with us.
The work done was quite good, but the labor racked up for 4 hours? Next time I will check several places, not just read the google reviews.
