I find it absurd that there is no direct reference...

I find it absurd that there is no direct reference number from the cardiology department but only a switchboard that the only thing that can say is "the doctors will call you". My mom was operated on this morning and 12 hours later, although the doctors should update you on the patient's post-operative conditions, nobody showed up, nobody who communicated the positive outcome of the operation.
I believe that seriousness and professionalism can also be seen from small things, and this is a bit scarce, I understand that they could be super busy during the day, but informing relatives and a duty of the doctor, or perhaps even just an act of courtesy , currently non-existent.
