I visited Lake Granbury Medical Center for a small cut on two fingers. I was quickly admitted to the Emergency Room. I received a saline irrigation rinse, a hand xray, and a TDAP (tetanus shot). The wound did not require stitches. I was there for about an hour. I never saw a doctor.

I received a bill for nearly $5,000. My insurance company was able to receive a small discount. In researching comparable costs on the Healthcare Blue Book, my ER visit should have cost about $500 - 662. Lake Granbury charged $3,378 (clearly an upcharge). My tetanus shot should have cost between $63-$67. Lake Granbury charged $236 for the injection and $92 to administer it. The hand xray should have cost $75. Lake Granbury charged me $818.

This is not an ethical business. I strongly suggest anyone who is able to drive into Fort Worth for treatment.
