I came back to Villa D'Carlo because I haven't been since I was in middle school, and remembered loving it. Either I was too naive or the place has really gone down since then.
I'm a waitress, so you know I really need to mean it when I say the service was terrible.I almost always give the server the benefit of the doubt, but I saw our server like 3 times total when we were the ONLY table in the restaurant, and she had an attitude with us. The bread brought out in the beginning was stale, the "bleu cheese" dressing on the salad I'm pretty sure was sour cream with some random white cheese (not bleu cheese), I ordered the ravioli, and it was under-cooked and definitely from a frozen bag, the red sauce tasted like watered down tomato paste, the meatball was just disgusting, so I sent it back (literally the first time I've ever done that). I asked her to just take it off the bill, since I had only eaten about 4 bites, and went hungry as I had no desire to eat anything else from that place.
I'm typically not so picky when it comes to restaurants, and I don't think I've ever written a bad review about a place before, but seriously. Steer clear of this place. There's hardly anything Italian about it, and it was horribly disappointing. If you want good italian food, go to Mangia or Casa Capri.
