This is a bit of a difficult one to rate. Visited yesterday with little one. Generally a good layout and well signposted. Took a buggy as wanted to walk around the park and not take the tram. (This is available at a top up price, you can hop on/off at each of the stops).
A large amount of animals, from small reptiles to the bigger animals in the wild. Without knowing the history of the animals it s hard to say if some of the behaviour they were exhibiting was from previous circumstances (e.g rescued from circus etc) or if it comes from living in the zoo? Some of the areas seen look very small for the size/requirements of the animals e.g elephants (pacing and swaying behaviour, very little natural movement, not much space for them to go) Cheetahs pacing up and down against the glass; giraffes pacing.... I m no animal expert but this is the type of behaviour that we re told is due to stress. Whilst I am 100%for conservation and protection of animals, I m not 100% comfortable seeing them in such a small space. It would be lovely to think/see that bigger enclosures/housing is offered. They are promoting conservation so it would be nice to think the animals are treated with this in mind.
Eating areas... quite a bit on offer however, pretty rubbish food, all pre-cooked so cold and inedible. Would suggest taking picnic/own food.
Lots of water stops available along the way to refill water bottles.
Take swim stuff for little ones as there s a children s splash park/changing area etc.
Toilets dotted throughout.
Overall, an ok day out with plenty to see and do.
