I am going to give a very honest review. I love this resort and have gone here with my family for the last 20 years. My children grew up coming to the lake. So I want to say I am very disappointed that this past Friday June 29th after spending a few hours at the lake we checked in with the restaurant and found out it would be about an hour wait without reservations and we made the decision it was probably going to be worth the wait and the scenery was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We were seated in about an hour as promised and we ordered our meals 3 tri-tip dinners and a children's meal. I was first a little disappointed that it took an hour and 20 minutes to get our food as not every table was full and even though it was the Friday before 4th of July they seem to have had enough wait staff so I'm guessing either not enough cooks or a brand new cook but what happened after we got our food is the most disappointing and really upsetting. Our food was not served hot or even warm it was obviously forgotten about and that's why it took so long for us to get it. And really good food is worth the wait however this was the worst steak dinner I have ever had and this is not an exaggeration. Not only was our food forgotten about and served cold but it was horrible and I love food of all sorts. The tri-tip was tough and Bland except for the fact there was some kind of hot pepper spice in the sauce that they poured all over our tri-tip actually drowned our tri-tip in and it was all in our mashed potatoes the three adults at my table we're not able to eat our potatoes and only each ate a little bit of the steak after we scraped the disgusting sauce off and one of us went and got steak sauce on our own from one of the shelves so we could manage to eat some of our meat as our waiter kept chatting outside and completely forgot about us never refilled any of our drinks either I finally caught him for a moment and told him we weren't able to eat our food because the hot spice stuff that was poured all over it and he offered us any side that we wanted so we chose french fries and that was the best part of our $90 dinner was the French fries. The vegetables which were labeled as seasonal vegetables were obviously from a bag of frozen mixed veggies no seasoning and no flavor and they were served cold like they had been warmed up in the microwave and then forgotten about. We will never go there again and will encourage our friends and family to not eat there either regardless of the good reviews and good experiences from other people we had a horrible experience and we're also upset that 2 hours and 20 minutes worth of waiting and a $90 dinner was a waste we would have done better to go down and get one of their pizzas and probably would have had a better dining experience and it's pretty disappointing that it was not remedied or made right and we are not picky people or complaining people but I felt it was important for their management / owner to know if they even care, that you cannot ask people to pay those types of prices for such a poor quality of service and a horrible dinner. It may have been worth the wait if the food actually was tasty or if they would have righted the wrong.
