Recently stayed there for 8 nights (late May 2013)...

Recently stayed there for 8 nights (late May 2013) with two others in a studio suite, meaning, we had two rooms, one with a double bed + full bathroom and the second connecting room with two twin beds and a tiny powder room. This suite, while well-laid out, was quite rundown and looked out onto a service area and a brick wall, so we requested to be moved to one of the refurbished rooms. Our request was granted but was not possible for the first night of our stay, so the next night (and the following 6 nights) we stayed on the Club floor in a fully renovated executive studio suite. This was very nice but the second connected room did not have a second bathroom and it was furnished with a cot and a pull-out sofa-bed -- neither were all that comfortable to sleep on (we needed three separate beds). Still, the suite was very well appointed, nice view to the west, quiet, and we enjoyed the complimentary Club Lounge for breakfast each morning and drinks from 6:30pm - 8:00pm each evening. We ate in two of the hotel's 4 restaurants and both were very good. All staff members were helpful and considerate. The hotel is well-situated just steps from the Kensington High Street tube station, and I do mean, steps! I have stayed here several times before in the "regular" rooms (i.e., those located on all floors except 11 and 12), and as other reviewers have noted, these rooms need to be renovated and upgraded in order for this hotel to be considered a 4-star.
