My son was hospitalized due to severe weight loss ...

My son was hospitalized due to severe weight loss three years ago. It has taken us this long to recover from the negative affects of his stay in Children's. Although his weight loss was caused by severe gut dysbiosis, and despite the fact that we gave the hospital staff plenty of explanation about the situation surrounding his weight loss, we were instead treated as though our son had anorexia or bulimia. He was treated as a criminal, not allowed to use the bathroom without the door left ajar. In fact, the bathroom was locked and we had to call staff if he had to use it. The trauma of how he was treated during his stay caused post traumatic stress affects that were detrimental over the next year and that are only now beginning to heal. The hospital was able to raise his weight up to a healthier level, but they did nothing to treat the underlying cause and did a pretty substantial amount of damage as well. After much trial and error we now have our son on a GAPS diet and he is finally, for the first time, showing signs of greatly improved health.
