When we walked into the hotel we were greeted with a warm, but modern, atmosphere. The staff can be seen looking at us over the counter wearing smiles. They promptly invited us inside to shelter our group from the gusts outside and even offering us complimentary cookies! The check-in process was nice and easy and anyone with difficulties standing can rest your tired legs on the many seats seated along the walkway of the reception room. After that, we were given our keycards into the rooms which can be accessed through lifts. There are enough lifts there to satisfy even the 25 people group I was in so no problem there. The rooms were properly sign-posted and there were very helpful staff that helped us along the way. Thus, we arrived at our room.

Regarding the room, for a four star standard-sized room, it is on the small side. Despite that it has a TV, fridge, ironing board, iron, wardrobe, safe box, phone, digital alarm clock and hangers to name a few things. The beds are soft enough to keep you warm but hard enough to not hurt your back. Let's say the beds are on the soft end of the scale. One fault though, is that they are high. I cannot get on the bed without jumping up and I'm six feet (180cm) tall! So beware if any of you have knee problems, you might want to opt out for a smaller and harder, but lower side bed they supply.

I personally have no complaints about the toilet but it's not perfect. It is very spacious, about half the size of a standard room. The bath and the shower are separate. The sink is on the weird side. It is on a good height but not low enough for kids to use. Also it is a lone sink with no place to put things like toothbrushes or toothpaste on. So you'll have to put them somewhere further away than usual. The sink also has a sharp handle bar which, in my opinion, is not cleaned well enough during our stay. Despite all that, there is a very useful feature. In the bathroom there is a lone red string hanging down from the ceiling which is used for emergency purposes, say if you fell over and need assistance.

Our breakfast was a typical English buffet morning with free drinks and food included in our prices.

Overall the hotel is worthy of four stars although it tips towards three more than five.
