Significantly overrated and a waste of time, specially if you are travelling with children and/or don't have much time.
Our experience as a family was abysmal. You can't go into the Palace with a stroller, no matter how small it is. We had to carry our 9 month old, and when I let her walk while holding my hands a security guard called me and told me in French something I couldn't really understand but I guess it was her bare feet would damage the floor so I had to carry her (what even?!). Totally unreasonable.
The gardens are a joke, unless you are after bush and semi-perfectly shaped trees. Barely any flowers, and many of the gardens were closed with no explanation. Fountains weren't on. A lot of walking through dirt and pebbles for a joke of a garden. Ridiculous.
Not to mention that it's an extremely overrated tourist attraction, so if you still decide to go to this place be prepared for lines, crowded rooms, and the occasional immature teenagers laughing at nude statues.
Yes, there are nice rooms with cute objects and pretty paintings, but if you are after beautiful art just spend extra time at the Louvre, and finish it off with a nice meal in Paris with the money you save.
Don't come here just to tick something off a list. Not worth it.
