The visitors' center and the gift shop are a disgrace. I was embarrassed to see how neglected the museum is and how little the so-called gift shop had to offer. The is the Silicon Valley, after all. The the museum should be a spot of light and energy for youth in the area. Instead, it is a sad and forlorn space. As an American, and especially now as the grandmother of a gifted 9yr old who loves science, I want things to change in this pivotal environment. An opportunity wasted it is, not only for my grandson but for all the children here in the SF Bay Area. Our youth and the future will be better served if there was a close examination of contract covering who has the authority over the museum and gift shot.
