I don't know what to say about Grand Velas other than wow. My husband and I spent a week here and it was one of the most relaxing vacations I've had my entire life. From the flavored water during check in to Chepe our concierge meeting us at our room, we were off to a good start. The tequila on demand in the room was good for sipping neat and mixing in drinks.

The restaurants at Grand Velas were mind-blowing. My favorite was easily Frida for Mexican food, but I was a fan of Piaf (French) too. Our first night at Piaf was a little rocky, but the second time we went was stunning. The hotel sommelier has excellent taste in what is available as part of the all-inclusive wine. I had fun doing my own pairings night by night and course by course.

My husband and I didn't do any excursions or even really go to the beach: we just sat by the pool and read in the sunshine. Our poolside service was spectacular. Before we finished a drink another one was waiting for us. The staff were friendly, courteous, and made a point of learning our names and drink orders.

The last night we were there my husband and I also did a romantic dinner for two on the beach. It was on the pricey end (even with a Costco travel discount), but it was totally worth it. We sat on the beach and had some of the best food of the time we were there. Our personalized service was spectacular that night and we made excellent memories.

Thought it may not be soon, we will definitely be back!
