Grand Velas Riviera Maya was one of the best all inclusive resorts I've been to thus far. Whether it's business or pleasure, I will definitely be making another trip.

EXCELLENT HOTEL! Incredible environments, very spacious and super comfortable rooms. It breathes a delicious aroma in all areas. The food is exquisite and the attention of the staff is unbeatable. They make you feel the most important guest. They have a fast Wi-Fi connection in any area of the hotel. The beach is free of sargassum and very clean too. I highly recommend it. We'll be back soon!

Wish we would ve known the beach isn t for swimming and we would ve gone elsewhere. There are huge jetties coming up from the sand and the water itself has such sharp rocks you can t walk into the water. Funny how there are no pictures of this issue on their site.

My family of 10 stayed for a week at the Grand Velas. The staff are amazing and the grounds are unbelievable. The food is absolutely the best we all have ever had. Even with the reduced occupancy due to the pandemic the staff proved us with an amazing experience. The sanitation and hygiene is the best I have ever seen. If you can travel...go to the Grand Velas NOW. No crowds and pampering service that is genuine.

By far, the best adults-only all-inclusive 5-star resort we've been to in Mexico! Our only complaint, which wouldn't prevent us from going back, is that the resort gives you a bill/check after every meal. The bill includes a line for additional gratuity, which seems to be an expectation. This is the only all-inclusive resort that we've visited with this process and it's a bit of a turnoff, given the price of the resort. The food, restaurant options, staff, activities, beach (wow!), and atmosphere are absolutely amazing - truly the best we've been to!

I've been to Grand Velas three years in a row. I love everything about this place. The service here is unparalleled. The pool attendants even clean your sunglasses while you lounge around. The food is awesome. I can't say enough about the food. Simply my favorite place to relax and unwind. I feel like royalty whenever I'm there.

Every amenity you could think of at 5* luxury. Very thoughtful and personable. The level of service, I would not believe it's all inclusive. This is also a culinary destination, I would stay here for the food. Incredible.
This is an excellent resort. The Zen rooms are very peaceful and quiet. The food choices are wonderful and the service was top notch.
All I can say - spectacular! It's like coming to paradise. The best service I had from any of the resorts I've been to, and I've been to many. All inclusive resort with very good restaurants. Especially Azure for buffet breakfast and Bistro for both lunch and dinner. Dinner at Piaf is a must: spectacular food and very good extensive wine list. Sommelier knows his business, as does the chef.

We've been to Grand Velas several times and always enjoy our stay. This was the first time we stayed in the Ambassador w/ connecting rooms and truly enjoyed the central location. We typically stay in the Grand Class but wanted to try the connecting rooms. The Ambassador rooms were nice, but the furniture might use a refresh in the coming years. We had a few issues w/ our room, but they were serviced/corrected immediately. For the most part, the restaurant food and service was excellent, although our service in Frida was below average and the food was cold. We would have sent the food back, but the restaurant temperature was very warm that evening and we were very uncomfortable. The other restaurants, including Azul, were top notch and we love the new and improved Lucca! Our concierge Carolina was outstanding and made sure our needs were taken care of. The pre-arrival concierge Mayte was also very helpful. The beach service by the Grand Class was very spotty. If you weren't tipping, you weren't getting the best service despite the beach not being very busy. Beach service by the Ambassador was much better. A few suggestions: All rooms should automatically be furnished w/ de-humidifiers instead of having to ask for them. Also, your computers should note repeat customers. We kept getting asked if this was our first time... this was actually my 5th visit. It's good customer service to acknowledge repeat customers. The pool attendants should not allow chairs to be reserved for hours at the Ambassador or Grand Class pools - after an hour towels should be removed. Lastly, guest services called our room at 9am on two mornings to solicit our attendance for a vacation program - I suggest not calling rooms until later in the day (at least after 10am). We like to sleep in when we vacation and did not appreciate the 9am wake up calls. Over all an excellent vacation w/ a few minor glitches. We hope to return again for spring break next year.

Very good quality of services and attention. A little small the extension of the beach. They built very close to the water. They could have respected the vegetation more like Mayakoba. It makes the wall of the beach very hard. The interior gardens and decoration is very nice.

This was by far the best resort we have ever visited! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt spoiled and special. The service was exceptional the whole visit, no matter where we were or what we were doing, you were always greeted with a smile and excellent service. We stayed in the Zen suites which were large and beautifully designed. The attention to detail in the rooms was amazing, they really thought of everything. We had our coffee on our deck and the fish and turtles swam up to greet us every morning. It was so relaxing. Love this area of the resort!! The Grand Class and Ambassador area's by the beach were beautiful as well. There is an adult only area and a family area so you can choose where you would like to enjoy the day. We choose to enjoy the beach area which was beautiful. The service was also exceptional in this area, coming to assist us before we even sat down with towels and ice water. The servers even remembered our names, amazing!! My husband and I both had a spa day and all I can say is WOW!! I also want to mention how much fun we had with Eric, the Dream Art photographer, he was not only a great photographer but also had a great personality which made it fun for my husband and I. The young lady that works sales at Dream Art was so wonderful and sweet, she was the reason we decided to book a photography session and it turned out to be one of the hi-lights of our visit as we had so much fun with Eric. I could go on and on about this resort as I feel we will never find another resort like this, the staff, the beauty, the feeling of complete relaxation will have us longing to return. Thank you to our concierge, Tona, for always looking after us. We had a wonderful vacation, thank you!! We will return!!
By far the most luxurious all-inclusive resort we have EVER stayed at-- we truly felt like royalty and couldn't get over how well we were treated during our stay! Gabriel, a Grand Velas employee, was our favorite staff member! (He is usually located at the Zen Pool!) He went above and beyond to make us feel extra special and definitely took care of every request we made with a smile on his face. His manners and politeness were noticed and appreciated by all. He made our experience even more amazing than it already was!

This is the second time we stayed and again it was an excellent experience that we will repeat. All the staff is efficient, warm, attentive and willing to anticipate our orders.
Over the Valentine's weekend, we checked into Zen building for four nights at 900+ dollars per night. We did not book the ocean front suites, which would have been 600 dollars more per night. First thing we noticed was how far the Zen building was from the ocean front buildings and the beach. Zen building, as the name indicates, is very serene, quite, meticulously maintained property with nice pool and its own restaurants. But we wound up spending most of the time from the beachfront buildings because we wanted to be in oceanfront. Had to take shuttles in between because it was not walk-able. For the last night of the stay, we were upgraded to the ocean front rooms. Overall, we felt that the property was very nice with top notch service. Food choices were many with impeccable service in each but I thought many of them were not as tasty as it looked. Buffet was presented very nice but, again, choice of food was an issue for us. Night time activities were really NOT geared toward couples, but more toward families with children. Karaoke bar was full of children and the piano bar never had a pianist. Other bars were very sparsely populated and often we felt a little lonely. Restaurant reservations weren't easy to get at early times but when we get there for 8:30 seating (a little too late for us), the restaurant was more than half empty, and we thought why was 8:30 the earliest seating available? The beach was not swimmable because of rockiness but very beautiful for sitting under the sun and enjoying the nice, big emerald-green ocean view. Pools were very nice and large enough to house many more than we saw enjoying the pool. Very clean and impeccably maintained. We were told that the entire resort was 500 rooms but we wondered where were all the people and evidently, for the weekend, it was fully booked. I am giving it less than 5-stars because I thought the resort was over priced at 1500 a night for the oceanfront rooms, no matter how beautifully it was maintained and serviced. We have been to many other resorts at decent price points that were better value. 5-stars for service, cleanliness, and the views from the pool and the beach. 4 stars for overall value. 4 stars for food. I would have given it 5 stars for food if it tasted as good as it was presented.

The most incredible all inclusive hotel I've ever seen. Really personalized service, beautiful room, 30 different wines included in the All Inclusive, gastronomic quality cuisine, a regal. Only black spot, the beach, full of pebbles.
Our family likes to try new places. So Grand Velas stands out as one of the only resorts we have all agreed will see us again. When we think of all inclusive - we often expect to have to give something up in order to get the convenience of the all inclusive. Not at Grand Velas. From our outstanding butler to the efficient and attentive poolside staff to every person at the restaurants - each and every one going out of their way to make our vacation exceptional. We could not have been happier. On the plane ride home my 7 year old told me that he really missed his buddy Alfonso from the Azul restaurant. It put a smile on all of our faces. As for the facility, we liked how convenient everything was. The accessibility to the pool, the beach as well as the restaurants, kids club and the gym. Your transport services are terrific - the volume of vans taking people back and forth to Zen was excellent - we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes (a big improvement vs. many other resorts). We loved the activities you brought to the pools, the bungee, hamster wheel and the dancers. All of it was lively and fun. Thank you for running such a first class resort. We will see you all again soon.

We found the Resort beautiful and ideal to rest and relax, the Spa is unmatched, you have to dedicate time even if only to the hydrotherapy part, we stayed in the Grand Class section, if we return we will repeat in the same section although the Ambassador is very similar if one wants a better rate, the gastronomic offer particularly in the evenings is varied and spectacular, by day it is more limited but acceptable. For wine lovers, the offer is limited. We sincerely recommend it.

Outstanding experience. The only problem was the transportation back to the airport. We arranged this through the hotel. We requested and confirmed twice that there would be a car seat for our 2 year old. Still, the driver come without a car seat. The hotel staff scrambled to find one. The first spare car seat hand only one strap. The second one did not buckle properly and could not be tightened. I consider the ride back unsafe. The cost of transport through the hotel is considerable more than booking independently. I would expect better service for the price.

This was our fourth stay at Grand Velas - Playa del Carmen. We love the location, service and restaurants. Our room concierges, Paulina and Denise were fabulous! Pedro and Tayde, our ambassador pool concierges made our outdoor time wonderful and relaxing. The wait staff in all the restaurants were wonderful as well. It is truly a luxury to be well cared for.

This was the best vacation! This all inclusive hotel is well worth every penny. You are welcomed with welcome drink of hibiscus tea upon arrive. It was delicious. After checked in, we were escorted to our room by our personal concierge, Daniel. He was there to make our vacation as enjoyable as possible. At first, we did not know what he would do to help us but by the end of our trip, we called Daniel for everything. He made dinner reservations, changed our pick up to time from the hotel so we could spend a little more time on the beach and he even found us on the beach and offer to print out our boarding passes. Our boarding passes were waiting in our room when we returned from the beach. Daniel made our vacation perfect. There was great service from all of the staff. We also met Manuel when we signed up to snorkel. Manuel was also wonderful. It was my wife's first time snorkeling so she was a little nervous and Manuel helped her the whole time. I have not even mentioned how beautiful the hotel and beach looked. We stayed in an ambassador suite. The room was large and the view was amazing. There are many great people at this hotel and they were all so nice. Thank you Grand Velas, especially Daniel and Manuel for making our vacation perfecto.
