I used to enjoy riding at meadows but can strongly say I wont be buying a pass here anymore. This mountain has potential to be great but the operations are sadly very poor. The way they have the mountain set up and the way it is listed on their website seems to just be a profit gain considering almost half of their lifts are never even open. I understand that running high elevation lifts are tough to maintain because of weather, but why even have them if they are never open? Seems to me they just want to list more lifts to attract crowds to increase profits. There have been at least 6 or 7 days this year where it was sunny, very mild winds, and yet they still do not have cascade or vista open which is completely unnecessary. This mountain attracts large crowds so when you don't open up a big section of the mountain, you end up waiting 15-20 minutes in lift lines which cuts into your runs on the mountain. It is so frustrating and not even worth the trip up. The updates they list online are so misleading. Listing a "very likely" chance cascade will be open, then you get up there and they don't even have chairs on the lifts. The same goes for vista, yet they wont open the lift until 1pm so everyone floods over there and the lines are crazy long. At least be honest online so you're not misleading people. It's sad because this is a beautiful mountain and there are good runs, but operations makes this mountain lack production. A 1.5 hr drive from portland turns into 2.5-3 hrs based on the amount of people, then you end up waiting 2 hrs in lift lines throughout a whole day. The snow really hasn't been great the past three years so it really isn't worth the time or cost to ride at this mountain. Until major changes occur, I have lost hope for this resort.
