UMF Carol Davila is the oldest and most prestigious medical university in Romania, founded a century and a half ago at the initiative of Carol Davila. Over time, the university has given prestigious names in medicine, which have brought the fame of Romanian medical education to all corners of the world. The building where the faculty operates is a historical monument, being an architectural jewel. It includes the famous Great Amphitheater, which holds the most important courses of several departments starting with anatomy, several smaller amphitheaters, laboratories of different departments, dissection rooms and last but not least two modern, well-equipped libraries, where you can study in the best conditions and also you can borrow different courses and treatises for individual study. The competition for university admission was in the past and has remained very strong today, UMF being one of the most sought after higher education institutions in Romania.
