Early morning exploration: Federation Square. Back in the late 1990s, the site of Federation Square was an abandoned building that was later demolished. In place was a unique designed public space that offers an amazing vista into the river and gardens on the opposite bank, and the view of beautiful Victorian heritage on the street side. This has been the place for many public events and hailed as Melbourne s hangout spot. The Melbourne Visitor Centre is located here.
