I have to agree with the other reviews. I was recruited and worked as a manager; it was the worst professional experience I have ever had. If you look at the staffing at corporate, you can see that Covelli squeezes everyone to gain as much profit as he can. His constant self interest is apparent with how he works to get his picture in the paper and advertise how much he gives to charity every year. Meanwhile, many associates are forced to get welfare benefits to survive.

He has at least 300 restaurants with a conservative estimate of 40 employees per restaurant. That would equal 12,000+ employees. For all of these employees, there is ONE HR person. Good luck getting her to call you back.

Similarly, there is ONE person in charge of benefits for all of his restaurants. So, much of the operational tasks that would go to these positions is dumped on the district managers or slips through the cracks. The culture is very chaotic and disorganized.

There was no one that I felt was a good example and possible mentor. Middle and upper management use intimidation and shaming to keep employees in line. As a result, good employees don't stay. Anyone who has seniority with the company does not display competence or professionalism. They are good at managing Mr. Covelli and stepping on whoever is necessary to get ahead.

While I was grateful for the paycheck, I was more than happy to leave and move on to something much better.
