My first visit to Italy, April 8-22/15. I stayed in this beautiful hotel - room 405. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if I returned. My room was bright, clean with an excellent view of the sea, the marina pier and the passeggio - Caffe New York. My room was serviced every day with clean towels my bed was made and the linens changed every other day. It had a kitchenette, plenty of closet space and a table. The shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. It was quiet and I had a wonderful balcony with a bistro set and awning. I spent plenty of time enjoying the view, the birds and the sailboats/yachts that would come out of the marina. The staff is professional, helpful, kind and very patient as I do not speak Italian. Don't miss the attached restaurant where Chef Luigi made his wonderful creations that I enjoyed daily. His staff are warm and welcoming. Thank you to all of them and especially Chiara and Barbara. On my last day, the hotel had arranged a taxi to take me to the airport in Pisa. My driver was Mr. Giorgetti Gabriele - he was wonderful and I wish I would have met him on day 1. His English is excellent but his enthusiasm and knowledge of the area would have helped me immensely. I have his card and when I return, I will contact him. He would be the best tour guide. I had a wonderful vacation in this absolutely beautiful, safe place. Don't miss this part of Italy. I walked to Lido di Camaoire everyday too. A must see as well. Thank you to all the staff at beautiful Hotel Residence Esplanade perfectly situated across from the public beach and between my two favourite piers - sea in front and mountains behind with beach as far as I could see. And yes, I returned to snow - it is white here still.
