The hotel is truly beautiful. The ADA room left a lot to be desired.
The bed was so incredibly high, at least 3.5 feet. Why would anyone think that someone who is wheelchair bound need a bed that high? Getting into it and out of it presented challenges.
The bathroom presented its own unique challenges. They have a phone on the wall, just above the security bar, that I kept hitting my radial nerve on (funny bone) every time I tried to stand up. We finally removed the phone from the wall. Which concerned the housekeeping, until I assured her that we would put it back upon our departure.
The toilet is extremely high. Not the standard ADA height. Higher than that, so if you have problems with your legs, like from multiple sclerosis, I wish you luck. Several times I could not stand up and my husband was forced to pick me up to get me off of it.
The shower is a standard roll in, without any barriers at all. I brought my own shower chair, but the hotel does provide one. No issues with the shower at all.
The sink is also extremely high. So much so that using it is a problem. I had to use tissue to spit into while I brushed my teeth, because I could not reach the sink.
House keeping is very friendly. The hotel is luxurious. I would recommend it to any healthy individual who can independently get around.
