I had a disappointing purchase experience with Clawson Honda. My sales person, Patrick, was fantastic and did his job very well. My issue, and this should come as no surprise to the financing department, was the after-care of my purchase. Without going into heavy details, I was asked to resign a sales contract 3 times in the interim of 3 months because of a lack of communication between Clawson and the lender that they chose. Granted, perhaps I was a special circumstance that they were not equipped to handle, using a military power of attorney to purchase the vehicle while my husband was deployed overseas, but the hoops that I had to go through and the 6 hard inquiries that my credit score has taken since I walked into the dealership is beyond comprehensible. This was the same power of attorney I used to purchase our home, the same power of attorney to be added on all bank accounts, and the same power of attorney I used to sell another vehicle. It got to a boiling point and we spoke with an attorney who advises us to heavily pursue a breach of contract case and to return the vehicle, but in effort to move past the problem we chose to just re-sign and take another credit hit to move on from this dealership because we did like the car and this was right around Christmas time. At no point during the ordeal were we ever offered anything in attempt to appease or lessen the situation other than to just sign it again. The whole experience left a very poor taste in our mouths, which is extremely disappointing considering this was our first new car purchase, let alone while my husband was deployed, and our credit has been overly impacted. I am happy with the vehicle (5 months in) but I do hope that I have no future mechanical issues because I am sorry to say that I will never return to Clawson or refer their services to clients. I'm sure they handle everyday transactions well, however being a military family and using a power of attorney will only end in disappointment and hassle.
