Came during a holiday weekend and expected some heavy traffic but was surprised at how relatively empty it was. Wanted some Italian with friends and decided upon Al Porto after looking at some reviews.

Service was attentive but can not speak too highly of the food. Mediocre offerings and prices that rival some top tier restaurants nearby in Gastown/Downtown.

Seafood pasta was average at best. Al dente pasta but seafood appeared to be overcooked to a bit of a mushy consistency. Worst of all however, was sand in some of the mussels/scallops. One of the more unpleasant feelings in life is biting into great pasta only to be met with gritty grains of sand.

Can t recommend but can t say anything bad about the experience - just average.
