Avon and Somerset Police Constabulary Review

Called you to report a suspicious car parked in a family hostel, a black Mercedes-Benz with it's boot open, windows steamed up and no one in sight. I just got dismissed like it was nothing because its "private property". This is absolutely unbelievable mythology nonsense.
If it's nothing then it's nothing but if it's something then no more comment from me,
I VERY rarely use this service and when I do you come up with excuse like it's private property or it's a family matter. It's really not on,

Avon and Somerset police have arrested me on many occasions due to false information. The most memorable was when someone "positively identified" me as their kidnapper from over half a mile away all because I have tattoos. Spent 23 hours at patchway. No interview. Oh sorry we have the wrong man was the response when I finally got released.

Ive got to say I m not impressed first I call on the 21st and been calling everyday since. I ve had death threats people turning up at my 82 year old nans smashing windows doors. You re failing to make me feel safe. As it says in your motto. And it s taken 5 days for an officer to come out and talk to me about a Facebook status that s been wrote about me to cause more fear and it s against the law what he s put on Facebook harassment and stalking charges should be given but I m still feeling in safe.

Dont feel they took my complaint seriously. they didn't give me a complaints reference number.

Not enough workers and not very helpful sometimes not disable friendly enough

I had a person harassing me constantly I reported to police over
8 times,they just ignored my reports,and recently they blocked my number so I can't contact Avon and Somerset police anymore with this number,
Disgraceful

Was kept for hours in a cell with a broken arm, nerve damage and they lied to sister and said I was being interviewed, which I wasnt! I was sat in pain waiting for them to maybe finish their cup of tea??? Poor poor poor standards!

My girlfriends car got broken in to, a fingerprint was left by the people who broke in in a sticky substance near the radio..they wouldn't even come out and look as it "doesn't meet the threshold" by this they probably mean that there wasn't a motorist they could issue a ticket to. Useless...why do we pay you?????????? Not allowed to look after ourselves because we then become the criminal. The police are just another big gang running a protection racket that they dont even honour. Too busy tazering innocent people in the face to focus on real criminals.

The actions of members of the force arresting street preachers was shameful. I hope the senior management will be taking appropriate action. It was disgraceful behaviour on the part of the force.

Often seems to be crawling with cops so a very bad location for exchanging large amounts of drugs or holding heist planning meetings.

Still, they try to help.

Like most police forces, don't have the resources or the community spirit to investigate crimes anymore.

The only think you going to hear is I don't antestend you.

Unfortunately the Police no longer stand for values in today's society. Nor do they try to help the people they are supposed to be protecting. They have become a disgrace to the uniform. Tried to report an assault in broad daylight. Was told the Police aren't interested in looking into it any further. Waste of taxes.

Tried three times to contact them about an RTA on the M5, just kept redirecting my call with endless waits, no response to ringing phones. Probably at McDonalds. Dr Roberts.

Avon and Somerset police are an absolute joke. The area where we used to live is overrun with drug dealers who they are well aware of. My partner was attacked by one of their customers and when we reported it they came and arrested my partner. These clowns have written statements from at least two of these thugs admitting that they threatened my children, but they have done nothing because 'they were honest about it'. The reality is that they don't want to deal with a family/mob of 20 stone slobs swearing and cluttering up their nice station. I have little sympathy, because we had to put up with this on a daily basis.

Absolutely disgusting service. The Police including the Chief Constable have dealt appallingly with two elderly victims, a 70/71 year old and an 80 year old. I have the names of all the officers involved if anyone would like to check in More

Lost my house keys as I'm a spaz but the desk staff were very helpful when I popped into enquire what to do?

I was greated with a cup of tea and there were some lovely dogs to look at. A real shame I was given 30 years otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary is (sadly) not doing enough to combat Rogue (and Xenophobic) Mechanics (Garages) within it's Territory.



Avon and Somerset Constabulary should thoroughly investigate the matter , as it is giving Somerset a very bad reputation.

What the Hell are Avon and Somerset Constabulary Police Officers doing , if they cannot even investigate Racial Hate Crimes like that !

Unbelievably rude call handlers , being accused of lying and spoke to in very rude manner. Bizarre. Reporting an incident and spoke to in that way. Disgrace.

Tried ringing there 101 service 3 hours 45 mins no one answered the phone then a message send a email if they cant answer a phone dies that mean they have more time to read emails what a joke what do we pay council tax for a service which is non existant

Avon and Somerset Police standards are dangerously below par. They already have high profile cases against them and their negligence are behind unnecessary deaths. Bijan Ebrahimi is one of them.

I made a urgent 999 call when I was assaulted and the police officers (who seemed uninterested at the time) turned up 2 days after.

Just to reiliterate - 999 call made minutes after assault and police turn up 2 days after....

What's more, the officer then tells me going on annual leave...? And then a course after that...?

It's basically code for = we're not interested.

This is why general public no longer trust the police.

They either arrest the wrong person or don't arrest the right one.

For driving without sirens whilst speeding through a red light merging onto a junction in Bristol city centre.
It was very helpful when the motorist immediately Infront of me stops whilst I'm overtaking causing a crash..... It's great to know with the grass verge on my left obscured any blue light (due to being behind the Infront motorist) and no audio prompt that my night was made so pleasant... Oh and no to mention the now understanding "turning sirens on is up to the driver" your supervisor answered when asked,,
" So is it acceptable for a speeding officer not to use siren when a pedestrian crossing is feet away past a bling corner??"
Having had a look I CAN actually see that is true!
Would it be a stretch then to argue, was it a silly disission not to?
And on that note the fact that even your own guidelines stipulate it's recommended standard practice to use both " lights and sirens when merging ONTO a multi laned junction??
Well thanks for taking the time to increase my stress levels and not take any accountability..

Worse Police Service I have dealt with and I deal with the police as part of my job.

Slow to respond, cases get passed from officer to staff, to officer. I had 3 different officers deal with my report. I drove 20 miles to another police station to make a statement in chard to have the officer moan about the fact I had been sent there and he felt it was all a waste of time. He also tried to talk me out of taking the complaint forward.

It was chaotic from start to finish and despite emailing and calling twice a week, it was 5 weeks before an officer got the case who actually started to deal with it. They are very vague on what their processes are but say certain things need happen before we can do anything. This officer had a different view to the first one I dealt with and didn't think after 5 weeks she could try and take witness statements. She tried to call attacker and they didn't call her back so she gave up.

When I complained she stopped returning my calls and just speak to my inspector if you plan to make a complaint.

Upshot is the same person has attacked my 12 year daughter now (Adult) and now they are taking notice but they could have taken action when this person attacked me and maybe a child would not have been harmed.

I have just read the report from the chief constable concerning the force's commitments last weekend. It is plain to see that the Police staff are doing a fantastic job in difficult circumstances. I am Neighbourhood Watch coordinator for a road in Clevedon and have sent the post to my neighbours in the full confidence that we support and thank you for all that you do.
