I explain my encounter(s) in detail below, but before that a tip: if you press zero after the language selection, it connects you to someone from customer service (not that their customer service is any helpful, but at least you get to talk to someone with brain ). And now let me tell you what I think of UPS: well I actually cannot find the words to describe how bad the service at UPS is. And considering that they are a service provider, this is unbelievably bad business! I have difficulties processing how they can be so bad and still exist. But I suppose they are better in other parts of the world and when packages are shipped to NL, the problem arises.

In July, my supplier in Turkey sent 4 boxes with goods to the Netherlands. It arrived in Utrecht very quickly but then... stuck at customs for some reason. After intense trying to reach a human being, I found out that one box was missing. And then I was called by one very rude man, who called me mevrouwtje in a patronizing tone and told me that I need to get in touch with my counter part in Turkey. WHY? The packages were shipped I have proof, but they don t care and they do not contact their counter part to find out what happened on the way. They also do not release the rest of the packages as they need all four to clear the customs. After 10 days, and tens of calls, finally I get emails that three packages will be delivered and the fourth will not. I of course do not believe it, but in the afternoon of the day that they indicate that they will deliver, they appear at my door with FOUR boxes! Yes four. Apparently they stuck the same label on two boxes which made one appear to be lost.

Now for the second time, another supplier has shipped 5 boxes on Tuesday. Again the boxes arrived in Utrecht in less than 24 hours. And again the status of the boxes are in clearance process . However, one of the five is already delivered on Thursday . How is that possible and why not with the rest?! Nobody knows. But in the mean time I call them and find out that they need my btw and eori numbers. So I send them the information, however nothing changes. So after calling and calling and calling, I find out that something went wrong and they still do not have the customs cleared. And I call and call and call again. They say it will work now, but it is already Friday. I do not expect delivery before Tuesday (if I am lucky).

They do not have any interest in helping their customers. As simple as that. I will make sure to avoid UPS as much as possible in the future. Working with UPS is a guarantee for mental break down!!!
