I asked for a quote from my sales person Craig. A monthly payment amount for the 4runner I wanted to purchase. You would think that it would be a straight forward conversation. Instead he wanted a "commitment" that I would come in and purchase the vehicle if he provided that information. He informed me that he didn't want me to "shop" the price around to other dealerships. Craig, its my responsibility as a consumer to shop around for the best deal. Especially something that's worth north of $50k. What really bugs me is that these kind of sales tactics would work on some people that are less inclined to compare prices around. I promptly went over to Heninger Toyota and bought 2 trucks there. Transparency and honesty at Heninger was a breath of fresh air.
