This experience was horrible, we arrived early after contacting the property prior and they stat it wouldn't be an issue to have early check in. We arrived around 1:50 pm, and were told to sit in the lobby while they had housekeeping get our room together. After 3:15 pm, I asked the front desk again, she assured me a supervisor was checking the room to ensure that is was sanitized for our stay so I went and sat back down. Finally after around 3:30 pm, we were contacted to get our room. We were not told about the additional $100.00 hold at check in and were okay with it since we would receive it back. We also had to await the baggage we asked to be sent to our room for over an hour that day forcing us to miss our excursions we had planned at the lake that day (the purpose of us taking the vacation) because we had our swim attire and belongings inside. Upon getting into the room we inspected to find that the room did not get cleaned properly. In addition, there were stains on the bed sheets, spiders and missing towels, dirty tub and a used bar of soap in a closed little box on the sink counter. After running water in both sinks in the bedroom bathroom, we noticed the drains smelled and both were clogged as the drain would hiccup when the sitting water was in the bowl. I tried bypassing this as well but when trying to turn the channel in the room we realized the remote was not working, the front desk sent two maintenance men to fix, however we ended up getting a whole new remote. The patio had cigarette butts and a lot of pigeon waste, this room was not cleaned clearly. I tried to discuss this with the front desk but after the manager called me, I realized she would have a rebuttal fro every complaint even though I was being polite and understanding because I knew they were busy and sold out. I finally reached my limit and told her that I could see she wan't interested in assisting us and hung up. Due to the later than expected check in we were not able to make the lake excursions, etc that we had planned forcing us to lose more money. I have stayed with Hilton many times and was really disappointed in not only the customer service but the behavior of the staff in dealing with a customer. In addition, I heard the front desk girls talking badly about us, were guests and I wasn t even rude at all, just wanted issues taken care of. I am hopeful this will not happen again and would like to request a refund for our stay as it was not pleasant
