Be prepared to wait in line. Lines to buy tickets and lines to enter the palace. Sometimes you may end up waiting upto 3 hours!!
However, its a breathtaking place. You should spend the whole day here. There are a lot of things to see here. I think it is something everyone should see just for the sheer magnitude of the place. Read up on the history before you go. It will mean more to you that way.
The crowds are crazy. There are a lot of tourists here. It was difficult to see some of the rooms in the palace because of huge crowd. Bring food and water because queues are very long at food points inside. There's also Marie Antoinette's hamlet, which is neat to explore. It's about 2 km away from the main palace. You can walk, take a golf cart, or the mini-train.
