I am so thankful that I came and read some Google reviews, as well as walked around my own neighborhood, to observe how widely used Smith-Thompson is, here in Dallas. They really don t advertise enough, because if they did, I m sure they d put ADT out of business. No contracts, no pushy sales pitches. I think they were likely behind the times for a bit with regard to smart home offerings, but now that they re integrated with Alarm.com, it s fairly seamless.

We called to make an installation appointment: there was no payment taken until the installer showed up and finished the installation. You re able to pay for BOTH installation AND 1 year up front- or pay monthly: your choice. There s a slight discount if you pay up front. It s monitored, and while it does connect to WiFi, it s still backed up with cellular if the power goes out. $30/month. SO much cheaper than ADT. Better than Simplisafe since you have a cellular backup.

My only remarks thus far is, with what little we ve tested the video doorbell (Skybell), the audio/microphone leaves something to be desired. It s very staticky/hard to hear when the person on the inside is talking/the person at the door has a hard time hearing. I m just assuming that s more of an equipment problem than a service.
