I recently had the opportunity to take some advance SSI dive training at Coco Diving Centre in Cuba March 2017 and I felt the experience was so great your company should hear about it. I travelled to Cuba December 2014 for the first time after doing my open water training in Scuba here in Canada.
I fell in love with the people and the country my first visit. I have now travelled to Cuba around 15 times over the past 3 years and have even done the diving trip at Jardines de la Reina (Garden Of The Queens) as well as no less than 8 diving centre s in various areas of Cuba.
Every trip has been a great experience and for me Cuba is my favorite country to dive in but the last trip is an experience I felt I should share with the people responsible for all the great diving centre s in Cuba. I met most of the staff at the Coco diving centre when I travelled to Tryp Cayo Coco early in 2015.
Tryp at that time was my favorite diving centre and I visited it a few times to be able to dive the location. When I completed all my PADI diving training up to master diver I made the decision to move forward on the professional side of diving under SSI not PADI.
With the recent closing of the dive shop in Tryp I made arrangements with the staff at the new Coco diving centre in the Melia Cayo Guillermo to move forward under SSI. I made arrangements to take all the training I could to be able to move forward as an instructor under SSI in the future.
I showed up at the diving centre March 6th 2017 and right from the very start all the staff started helping me move forward with the training. Every member of the diving staff could not have been more helpful and doing everything they could do to make the training and experience something worthwhile.
I was honored huge when I found out I was the first Canadian certified under the new location and only one of 4 students over all the years to get their DM under this diving centre. All diving instructors worked with me as well and I had a great opportunity to learn from all of them over the training.
The Diving centre supervisor Osvaldo Rodriguez oversaw all the training and made sure the paper work and all forms were looked after and made the administration of the training easy.
Learning to dive with divers from this diving centre has been amazing!!! I would highly recommend this training centre to any serious diver looking to challenge themselves in a professional safe environment.
I have already been in touch with SSI to express the amazing level of training in this diving centre and I hope to be able to continue the training here in the future. While every diving centre I have been at in Cuba has been top notch this diving centre is special.
