This is the place we want to love in our neighborhood. We used to love coming here to show people there was a good non hotel restaurant downtown. Sadly, however, the service the last couple times has been awkward due to their seating practices in the bar. We were made to leave our seats in the bar on our friend's 30 th birthday when all we wanted was a drink. The hostess said that we would have to get up and move to another table or sit at the bar, but she didn't show us where would be appropriate. Sufficiently embarrassed by the ordeal, we decided to leave when we were cornered and confronted by the manager who obviously cared more about condescending us than making us satisfied customers. He probably thought we didn't look right or something, since we are locals that live a block away. Now we will no longer be recommending white oak kitchen to the many celebrities and wealthy people that live in our building.
