Jan-Bas Review of DierenPark Amersfoort

Yesterday 6/17/2018 decided to go to Amersfoort Animal Park with girlfriend. We wanted to use our VVV passes with a discount because the website stated "Amersfoort Zoo accepts VVV vouchers / Iris checks." however upon arrival it turned out that they do not accept VVV passes. We found this very unfortunate and we still had to pay the full amount while otherwise we could just go out via jumbo discount for example. However, because they have (we think) after our "complaint" at the service desk on the website that they cannot accept VVV cards, I think it is good of them again.
-The park
Very nice park with nice accommodations, the route is clear and fun (via mass nothing signs you actually see everything) if there is something wrong with the accommodations (moved animals for example) there are neat signs that they are gone and you don't have to look for nothing.
We couldn't find the otters, but we think the sign will still have to appear there?
-The app
Very handy map app that shows where you are with GPS. where you can clearly see the miss nothing routes on.
-The food
We had lunch at the outdoor restaurant. Above all the food there were chalkboards with the prices, but the prices were but somewhere for example above the soup was bread and above the bread was soup this was special?
I think we stood in line for 20 minutes before we could order what we wanted, I thought this was too long. Then my girlfriend ordered a chicken satay, where she got the last fries. I ordered kibbeling dish where I had to wait another ~ 8 minutes for the dish because the fries had run out. I found this very unfortunate because it does not seem really difficult to keep fries in stock.
The squabbling looked as if it had been under the heat lamp for an hour. By the way, it tasted better than it looked, but it wasn't great or anything. The checkout also took a long time because 1 checkout was only open because the 2nd checkout was broken (understandable) but it took a long time before we actually sat and could eat
Lipton icetea Yeey: D no fuze (I had to say)
-Personnel
Many friendly staff encountered some grumpy people a few times but everyone has his day.
What I found unfortunate at some stays were guides that you could ask questions, but otherwise you really encountered few guides / animal caretakers.
We just happened to have an incident, we were standing with the penguins and (seems to us) a confused old man stepped over the gate into the enclosure. Then he happened to come to us and started talking about all kinds of things. We then kept him busy by listening to him in the hope that an employee would come but that lasted and lasted. Coincidentally, there was finally an employee who was just visiting who walked by and so when staff called in and then everything was fine. But what I am saying is that in such a busy park I expect quite a bit more staff to walk around.
I think 4 stars here on the spot I would have given 5 if we had not had the necessary irritation by the tickets and the food. But just 4 stars because the animals / enclosures that you come for were very neat and fun.
-edit -1 star Due to. No response Amersfoort thinks 2018 is just right.
Sincerely,
Jan-Bas
