TLDR: not modern but comfortable and clean hotel with friendly people. Kitchen not for everyone (quite chic) but very tasty. Near the center of Vresse from which you can easily leave for walks.

Booked 2 nights with breakfast via bongo-coupon.
- Authentically furnished hotel with a cozy bar with a beautiful fireplace to enjoy a coffee or a book after your walk, possibly from the provided bookcase (Pieter Aspe, Roald Dahl, ...).
Friendly service by multilingual staff.
- Rooms are a bit dated and bathroom could use some work but clean and everything worked. Our room faced the street and we feared noise pollution as you are on a main road but when we were reading in bed at night and when I turned around again in the morning I didn't hear a car passing. At the rear, a small river flows at a decent pace along rocks, so you can hear that quite a bit.
In the garden there were a number of chalets with a sitting area and several bedrooms, perfect for families.
- Dogs are welcome at an additional cost

- The bar has a wide choice of aperitifs, digestifs, beers and coffees (irish, french, scottish, spanish, ... no hipster coffee;) There are really many seats, which makes it seem a bit full.
- Breakfast is neatly presented with an assortment of cheeses and meats, rolls, croissants and pastries, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, bacon with scrambled eggs or a boiled egg, 2 types of juices (unfortunately not fresh) and a coffee machine that you can use yourself can choose between different types of coffee.

The only downsides I can find are:
- no digital TV and apart from one and ketnet you only have French channels
- For me, staff do not need to wear a fancy uniform, but staff who supplement breakfast in the morning can at least wear a little "neat" clothing. Such baggy pants with glitter on the side and a loose t-shirt that hangs halfway off the shoulder didn't really seem like the kind of clothing to work with in a hotel.
