Sam White Review of Sheraton Gunter Hotel

The staff was friendly. The location is great. But this hotel is over priced and shouldn t be listed as a 5 star hotel. I only paid 69$ a night because I have a family member who works for Marriot the room I stayed in nightly rate was 169$ a night.
This hotel still uses key cards, having a key on your phone is way more convenient. The room services where suspended due to COVID which is understandable but they didn t have cleaning staff to replace your linen or towels, that should have been told to me when I arrived. I was there from Thursday till Saturday so 3 days 2 nights. Trash was never picked up. I ordered takes out and went shopping all the trash associated with shopping and takeout just sat in my room. I had no idea where to take it. I was told to just sit it and my towels outside the door and to get more towels from the front desk which was annoying to do after a long day just to return to a hotel and not have those things already taken care of.
The feel of the hotel is old fashioned. The fixtures, color, and the bathrooms where all outdated. My Iron was broken, I called for a new one someone dropped off the new one and left the old broken one in the room. And maintenance had to be called to unclog the tub which drained slow leaving you to shower in standing water.
It did have a microwave and mini fridge which should be standard in all room. But other where substandard With the name Sheraton or Marriott name attached to it. I wasn t impressed.
If I had to pay full price I would have not stayed I would have just saved myself valet which is 37$ a day and stayed at a motel 6. I normally stay at Fairfield they are more modern feel glass. And reasonably priced.
Overall the experience is ok. The staff was great. But y all need to revamp that hotel or lower your prices.
