We arrived as a major disaster cleanup was in progress. A hotel guest had apparently went berserk and set off the sprinkler system earlier in the evening. This was not the hotel's fault and they had a large cleanup crew on-site. We ended up having to check into a smoking room as the non-smoking room we reserved had been flooded. The loud cleanup work continued in the hallway all night outside our room. A maid knocked on the door at 8am (there was no do not disturb sign available in the room).
The next morning I asked for a free night and ended up with only a small food voucher at their restaurant from the manager. The disaster was not their fault, but I was not satisfied with the compensation for this major hassle it and the lost sleep it caused us.
The breakfast buffet was ok, but bacon would have been nice instead of just sausage. The staff was generally friendly despite difficult circumstances for them. Lobby coffee ran out and I mentioned it to a kitchen employee. Said it would be taken care of. An hour later it was still out. Some of the room decor was old, although I've stayed in worse places. There was an upholstered chair in the room with soon real nasty looking stains. My wife freaked out when I sat in it briefly. Rest of the room was not too bad. Beds were too soft. AC worked well. Otherwise room was ok.
